Feedbin > NetNewsWire

Updated: Feb 6, 2023

I’ve been using Feedbin as my RSS reader of choice for a number of years now. But the iOS app just seems to open the web version. Not much of an experience on mobile.

The solution I found was to import my Feedbin subscriptions to the NetNewsWire iOS app and use that instead. NetNewsWire is basic but it works like a charm. It’s also just another RSS reader, meaning I don’t really need to keep paying for Feedbin.

But what kept me with Feedbin was the newsletter feature, which provides you with an email address to use when you sign up for newsletters. That way, you can get all your subscriptions out of your inbox and into your Feedbin reader. Very useful if you prefer to read email without distraction.

Recently I discovered Newsletter delivery via RSS, using a great little tool called https://kill-the-newsletter.com. With Kill the Newsletter and NetNewsWire I now have the same functionality as Feedbin, plus a better mobile experience. I’m sorry Feedbin, but it’s time to move on.

NetNewsWire is free and open-source which is also a bonus. You can support the project in a number of ways. But it’s probably best to give it a go, first.
